Contemporary Logistics Management
About this Course
What organisations are experiencing today we choose to describe as the Supply Chain Revolution and a
related Logistical Renaissance. These two massive shifts in expectation and practice concerning bestpractice performance of business operations are highly inter-related.
Within Supply Chain Management, Logistics is the work required to move and geographically position
Inventory. Logistics is a process that creates value by timing and positioning inventory.
Logistics is a combination of firm’s order management, inventory, transportation, warehousing, material

performed continues to radically change.
During the last decade of the 20th century, channel strategy and structure began to shift radically. Traditional
distribution channel arrangements moved towards more integration and collaboration.
